Terms & Disclaimer

These terms explain the intended use and limitations of the independent MangoGrade software.

Last updated September 17, 2026
No legal shield or district permission: these terms are not legal advice, do not guarantee protection from claims, and do not authorize access to any school system. Have qualified counsel review this project before public or organizational deployment.

Independent project; no affiliation

MangoGrade is an independent, unofficial grade-planning application. It is not owned, operated, approved, sponsored, or endorsed by any school district or student information system vendor. No partnership or permission should be inferred from MangoGrade’s ability to communicate with a school grade portal.

School district portals typically require district-vetted agreements and policies. MangoGrade is not covered by any such agreement, and this project makes no claim of school district vetting or approval. Review your school district's current portal terms and online digital tool guidance before use.

Authorized and responsible use

  • Use only an account and student information you are authorized to access, and keep your password private.
  • Before using MangoGrade with student data, check applicable parent/guardian, school, district, and account requirements. These terms do not supersede or modify them.
  • Do not use the software to bypass authentication, MFA, rate limits, technical restrictions, or a denial of access. If the official service blocks a request or requires another sign-in method, stop and use the official school portal site or app.
  • Do not use MangoGrade to change, misrepresent, or distribute another person’s records. What-if calculations are for personal planning.

What the application does

MangoGrade reads gradebook information through an unofficial app-compatible connection and calculates hypothetical scores in the browser. The simulation does not submit grade edits to the student portal. Login activity and data requests still reach the district’s service, which is subject to its own operation, policies, and availability.

Displayed grades, categories, weights, and calculations may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. “Not graded” means the gradebook has no score for that assignment; it does not predict what a teacher will enter. Only the official school record and school staff determine official grades.

Local software and third-party copies

The standard version is intended to run locally on your own device. You are responsible for protecting that device and any credentials entered. Do not expose the local server to the public internet.

If you use a hosted, forked, or modified copy, its operator may process or retain your information differently. Review that copy and its operator before entering credentials. The project cannot make promises about software or services it does not operate.

Availability and warranty

The software is provided as-is and may stop working when the district service, app protocol, or local environment changes. To the extent permitted by applicable law, no warranty is made about accuracy, availability, security, or fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and contact

These terms may be revised as the software changes; the “Last updated” date will be updated with material revisions. For questions about a particular copy, contact the person who provided or operates it. For questions about legal rights or whether this tool is permitted for school use, consult qualified counsel or the relevant school/district contact.
